While it has not been officially announced that the HTC Hero will NOT get the Froyo (Android 2.2) update, it looks like Hero owners should not hold their breath waiting for the update.

It may never come.

But that is not such a big deal. Froyo is faster, but the UI tweaks that it adds do NOT make it dramatically different from 2.1.

So don’t sweat it and enjoy your phone.

So I headed down to my local Best Buy, where you can get the new HTC Hero.

Testing out the browser, I decided to see how this site renders… not bad!

Overall the phone felt solid and polished… I was impressed.
